Oh Dear, Doe Deere!

A new place continuing the work of Doe Deere Lies. This blog contains verifiable information on Lime Crime and its' owner Xenia Vorotova, aka Doe Deere. Everyone is welcomed here, please be respectful and allow for differing opinions. This blog is not a hate blog. I simply want people to have as much as possible information available to them so they can make an informed choice as a customer or supporter of Lime Crime.

- please note, this is NOT run by the same person who ran Doe Deere Lies.

I know many of the readers will access posts via their dashboard, so I thought I’d let you know I’ve opened up these forums, and there’s a direct link on the homepage too. Included on the forum is a shoutbox, and the entire thing is very much a work in progress, so please bear with us while it gets going. I’ve created a general area and a members only too, so hopefully it’ll deter trolls from bugging us too much :) please feel feel to register and get the topics going!

I hope i'm not overreacting, but on lc's insta they posted a pic of a white horse and a hand holding an eyelashes curler and the horse's lashes are curled. I find this offensive as animals are not toys or objects but living beings, also xenia's always claiming her brand is cruelty-free but then why would you post a pic like that? It's kinda idiotic
ohdeardoedeere ohdeardoedeere Said:

I thought that the outcry of the picture was a little overwrought. Animal cruelty is absolutely disgraceful and more should be done to highlight the issue, but I don’t believe the horse wasn’t in any danger, and I doubt that the horse had had it’s lashes curled. I believe they are naturally like that, not all horses have lashes straight down - if not, there’s always the possibility of photoshop… it’s not unknown that Lime Crime use it ;)¬†

would you happen to know if Xenia creates the formulas for LC? Who helps her connote the formulas? I wish they stayed consistent.
ohdeardoedeere ohdeardoedeere Said:

Lime Crime was manufactured by New Look (not the UK fashion company!), as per this image. I can’t find any recent information as to who creates the formulas now, and Lime Crime’s Linked in¬†profile has them registered as a manufacturer. This has been discussed before, but until new info comes up, we have no concrete proof of who formulates LC products.

As someone who has the velvetines (i couldn't help myself, i found them on ebay for half of the price it would have cost me to get them shipped to australia from dough's site) I whole heartedly recommend the Australis Velourlips, albeit the cringe worthy names, the 5 colours you have to choose from are pretty cute (a better variety then LC atleast ((a pink, red, cosmopop-ish shade, purple and a nude) and they stay about as long as my wicked does too!!

I just received two Pretty Zombie cosmetics liquid lipsticks (zombettie and 3 witches). I noticed something with the packaging. I ordered the black velvet before I realized all of the controversy. The PZC packaging (box and tissue paper) was about 3x as small as LC's packaging and I only ordered one product vs. two from PZC. It just seemed like overkill to me.
ohdeardoedeere ohdeardoedeere Said:

The insane amount of packaging for LC products is nothing new - waaaay back in the days of blind Lime Crime adoration I ordered a lipstick and Magic Dust eyeshadow and the size of the box was huge. There was only a couple of bits of tissue paper so they must have done a few amount of rolling around in the box, although nothing was broken luckily. I thought at the time they must have bulk ordered one size of box for budget reasons. Now, they really should keep an eye on package sizing, I know the Royal Mail here in the UK charge postage based on size, so I’m guessing P&P/customs is needlessly expensive for quite a few customers worldwide.

Sephora (where the Kat Von D makeup line is sold) ships to the UK! They started earlier this year- you just use the American site. I could be wrong but I think there is free shipping or $5 shipping to the UK if you spend over $75 (which is £43.95). Just thought I would let you know!

Thanks sweetheart! I believe they have a no extra charges guarantee of sorts so customs won’t be an issue. Not sure how that works but I’m gonna take their word for it. I’ve just seen OCC’s Technopagan and that’s turned my attention from Poe now haha.
